Kohler Kitchen Remodeling: The Miami Owner’s Guide
If you have a Kohler kitchen faucet, sink, or fixture that’s leaking, corroding, or outright failed, we match the right Kohler part to your model and install it for a fixed written price. A full Kohler kitchen remodeling project in Miami typically runs $16,520 – $53,100 depending on cabinetry, countertop material, and how much plumbing work is involved, while a targeted Kohler faucet or sink replacement usually lands between $300 and $1,100 installed. Most owners discover a part has failed the hard way: a persistent drip under the sink, a sprayer that won’t retract, or a cartridge that’s seized from years of Miami’s mineral-heavy water.
We’re an independent Miami remodeling contractor, not affiliated with Kohler. But we work with Kohler fixtures every week because they’re common in homes from Coconut Grove to Kendall, and we know their parts catalogs well enough to order the right one the first time. Trevor Nash, our owner, puts it this way: give you a number first, then pick up the tools. That applies to a $40 cartridge and a $53,000 kitchen.
Which Kohler Models This Applies To

Kohler splits its kitchen line into several series, and the part that fits one series often won’t fit another. The main series we see in Miami kitchens are the Simplice, Bellera, Crue, Sous, and Triton faucet lines, plus the Riverby, Whitehaven, Hartland, and Vault sink lines. The compatibility gotcha most homeowners miss: Kohler changed the cartridge design on several faucet lines around 2017. A pre-2017 Simplice takes a different valve body than a current one, and the parts don’t cross over. The model number is stamped on a label on the sink underside or on the faucet’s cold water supply line. If the label’s gone, we can usually identify it by measuring the cartridge stem and the faucet body opening.
For the OEM-versus-aftermarket decision: Kohler’s genuine cartridges and spray heads typically run $20 – $90 and carry a Kohler warranty, but they’re not always faster to source. Quality aftermarket equivalents from Danco or PlumbCraft run $8 – $40 and often fit fine, though we’ve found the rubber seals in cheap aftermarket cartridges break down faster in Miami’s soft, chlorinated water. Our rule: if the homeowner is keeping the home, we recommend Kohler OEM. If it’s a rental unit, aftermarket often makes sense. We stock common Kohler cartridges, sprayers, and basket strainers on our trucks; the oddball stuff we order same-day from local Miami plumbing supply houses.

Signs Your Kohler Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Persistent drip from the spout after shutoff. The cartridge’s ceramic discs have worn past their sealing tolerance. Mineral scale from Miami water accelerates this, and the fix is a cartridge replacement, not a handle-tightening.
- Low water pressure with no change elsewhere in the house. The aerator or the spray head diverter is clogged with sediment or scale. Sometimes cleaning the aerator fixes it; sometimes the diverter valve needs replacement.
- Sink drains slowly despite clearing the trap. The basket strainer’s rubber gasket has cracked or compressed, letting debris pack the space between strainer and sink. This usually needs a new strainer assembly, not more Drano.
- Rust or corrosion bleeding from around the faucet base. The mounting gasket or the supply line connection has failed and water is sitting against the deck plate. Left alone this corrodes the sink surface and the cabinet top below.
- The sprayer hose won’t retract or leaks at the connection. The counterweight has slipped, or the quick-connect fitting has worn out. It’s a cheap part, but getting to it requires pulling everything from under the sink, which is where people give up and live with it.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a focused Kohler part replacement in Miami, here’s what we quote:
- Faucet cartridge replacement: $150 – $350 installed
- Spray head and hose assembly: $120 – $300 installed
- Basket strainer replacement: $140 – $320 installed
- Soap dispenser replacement: $80 – $200 installed
- Full kitchen faucet replacement with Kohler install: $300 – $1,100 installed
- Complete Kohler kitchen remodel (cabinets, counters, sink, faucet, backsplash): $16,520 – $53,100
What drives the range on a part swap is access and condition. A Kohler cartridge in a 2-year-old faucet with clear shutoff valves is a 45-minute job. The same cartridge in a 25-year-old Miami condo with corroded angle stops and no access panel can run triple. Every quote includes the part cost, labor, and our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing. If the repair fails inside that year, we come back at no charge. That’s not a courtesy; it’s in writing.
DIY or Call Us?
Here’s the honest split. You can safely check two things before calling anyone: whether the shutoff valves under the sink actually turn, and whether the faucet model label is still attached to a supply line. Those two facts tell us most of what we need. What we don’t recommend as a DIY job is swapping the cartridge yourself on Kohler faucets with integrated handle sets; the retaining nut is often under spring tension, and stripping the splines on the stem turns a $40 part into a $200 faucet body replacement. If water has been leaking under the cabinet for a while, we also want to check the cabinet floor for rot before we touch the plumbing, because we’d rather tell you about a failing substrate now than discover it mid-remodel.
If the part’s failed and you want it done right the first time, call us at (850) 988-7559 and describe what you’re seeing. We’ll give you a written price before any work starts, and a real arrival window, not a four-hour someday block. That’s the way we’ve run jobs in Miami since the day we opened here.
FAQs

A Kohler ceramic disc cartridge typically lasts 8 – 15 years in Miami’s water, but homes with older galvanized supply lines or no whole-house filtration often see failures in 5 – 7 years because sediment scores the ceramic surfaces. If you’re on Miami-Dade municipal water without a softener, expect to replace the cartridge at least once during the life of the faucet. Call (850) 988-7559 and we can tell you over the phone whether it sounds like a cartridge issue or something simpler.
No. Ceramic disc cartridges are sealed units; there’s no practical repair. The good news is replacement is straightforward, takes under an hour in most cases, and costs far less than a new faucet. If the faucet itself is damaged or the finish is failing, that’s when we recommend replacing the whole fixture rather than putting new parts in an old body.
A faucet or sink part replacement usually takes 1 – 2 hours on site. A complete sink and faucet replacement runs 3 – 4 hours including cutting the new countertop opening if needed, and a full Kohler kitchen remodel ranges from 3 – 8 weeks depending on cabinet lead times and countertop fabrication. We’ll give you the specific timeline for your job before any work is scheduled.
We stock common Kohler cartridges, spray heads, basket strainers, and mounting hardware on our trucks. Series-specific parts we order from Miami plumbing supply houses, usually available same-day or next morning. If you want to confirm we have your part before we come out, call (850) 988-7559 with your model number and we’ll check inventory while you’re on the phone.
