ViewLux Kitchen Remodeling: The Miami Owner’s Guide
If you own a ViewLux kitchen and something’s failed, here’s the straight answer: we stock and install ViewLux-compatible kitchen components across Miami, and a full kitchen remodel with ViewLux cabinetry typically runs $16,520 – $53,100 depending on layout, cabinet line, and countertop material. Most owners discover a ViewLux part has failed the same way – a cabinet door that won’t stay closed, a drawer slide that grinds instead of glides, or a corner that’s started to pull away from the wall after three or four Florida summers. The good news is that a failed part rarely means a failed kitchen. It means a specific component needs replacing, and that’s a job we handle regularly.
We’re an independent Miami contractor, not affiliated with ViewLux. That matters because we don’t steer you toward a brand loyalty answer. We steer you toward the part that actually holds up in coastal humidity and a kitchen that gets cooked in five nights a week.
Which ViewLux Models This Applies To

ViewLux cabinetry shows up in a lot of Miami condos and single-family homes built or renovated between roughly 2008 and 2019 – think Edgewater high-rises, Coconut Grove bungalows, and Kendall tract homes where a mid-range remodel was part of the original sale. The line most commonly installed here is the ViewLux frameless, full-overlay series, which uses a 35mm cup hinge and an 18-inch deep drawer box in most base cabinets. You’ll find a small foil label inside the top drawer or on the back of a wall cabinet door with a manufacturing code. If the label reads “VL-F” or “VL-E” at the start, you’ve got a frameless European box – and the good news is that those hinges and slides follow standard 35mm and 32mm bore spacing, so we can source OEM ViewLux replacement hardware or a quality aftermarket equivalent (Blum or Hettich slides fit these boxes cleanly) without modifying the cabinet.
The gotcha: ViewLux wall cabinets in Florida installs from 2012 onward often came with a soft-close damper that’s specific to the hinge cup, not the hinge arm. If you replace the hinge but reuse the old damper, you’ll get a door that closes hard or binds. That’s the kind of detail that takes a five-minute swap and turns it into a two-hour frustration if you don’t know it going in. We do.

Signs Your ViewLux Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Cabinet doors that sag or won’t stay square. The hinge plate has worn from humidity cycling – Miami’s wet season and dry season work a hinge harder than most places. The screw holes strip in the particleboard box, and the door drops. A new hinge alone won’t fix a stripped bore; it needs a repair plate or a new door.
- Drawers that stick at the halfway point. The ball-bearing slides on ViewLux base cabinets lose their nylon guides after 8 – 10 years of daily use, especially in kitchens where the dishwasher sits adjacent and vents hot steam into the cabinet run.
- Soft-close stops working on one door only. That’s the damper failing inside the hinge cup. One door slams, the rest close gentle – it’s a $12 part, but you have to match the cup depth.
- Visible separation at the cabinet corner or crown molding pulling from the ceiling. Florida humidity swells and shrinks the boxes. If the installer didn’t leave expansion space, the seams open. This is a re-secure job, not a part hunt.
- Shelving brackets cracked or popped loose. The 5mm pin-and-sleeve system ViewLux used on many lines is fine until someone overloads a shelf with cast-iron cookware. The sleeve cracks inside the bored hole, and the shelf drops.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For ViewLux-specific kitchen work in Miami, here’s what the numbers look like:
- Cabinet hardware replacement (hinges, slides, dampers): $250 – $600, including parts and labor for a typical 10-box kitchen
- Single cabinet box replacement: $472 – $1,180, depending on size and finish match
- Full cabinet installation with ViewLux or equivalent: $4,720 – $15,340
- Complete kitchen remodel (cabinets, counters, backsplash, island): $16,520 – $53,100
The spread comes down to cabinet count, whether you’re reusing the existing boxes or replacing them, and what countertop material sits on top. A 10×10 galley kitchen with laminate counters and stock ViewLux boxes lands at the bottom. A 200-square-foot kitchen with an island, Cambria quartz, and a full-height backsplash pushes toward the top. Every job gets a written price before any work starts, and the repair work carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise – if it fails inside a year, we come back and fix it at no charge. That’s in writing, not in a handshake.
DIY or Call Us?
Cabinet hardware is one of the safer things to DIY, and we’ll be honest about that. Adjusting a hinge plate with a Phillips screwdriver, swapping a soft-close damper, or replacing a shelf pin – those are reasonable weekend fixes if you’ve got the right part number in hand. Where DIY goes wrong on ViewLux specifically is the bore spacing. ViewLux used a mix of 35mm cup bores on doors and 32mm system holes on the boxes, so if you order a hinge based on “standard European” without checking the cup depth on your specific door, you’ll drill a second hole or cross-thread a screw, and now you’ve got a worse problem. That’s the one we see every month in Miami: a homeowner with a cordless drill, a new hinge that doesn’t fit, and a third bore hole that’s too close to the first.
If the part’s dangerous, we’ll say so – but cabinet hardware isn’t in the same league as a garage spring or an electrical panel. The risk here is time and frustration, not injury. Still, if you’d rather not spend a Saturday learning your cabinet’s bore spacing, call (850) 988-7559 and we’ll bring the right part the first trip.
FAQs

ViewLux frameless boxes typically last 15 – 20 years in Miami if they’re installed with proper expansion gaps and kept out of standing moisture. The hardware – hinges, slides, dampers – wears out first, usually at the 8 – 12 year mark depending on kitchen use and proximity to a dishwasher or steam-producing cooktop. The boxes themselves hold up fine; it’s the moving parts that need the swap.
No – once a ball-bearing slide loses a guide or a soft-close damper stops damping, the part is done. There’s no rebuild for a $12 damper. The fix is replacing the failed hardware with an OEM ViewLux part or a quality aftermarket equivalent with matching bore specs. Call (850) 988-7559 and we’ll match what’s on your cabinet.
Most hardware-only replacements – hinges, slides, dampers, shelf pins – take one to two hours for a full kitchen. Replacing a single cabinet box takes half a day. A full ViewLux cabinet installation runs two to four days depending on the run length. We’ll give you a written arrival window and a written price before we start anything.
Our trucks carry common 35mm soft-close hinges, 18-inch and 21-inch drawer slides, shelf pins, and dampers that match ViewLux bore specifications. If your cabinet needs a less common part – a corner carousel, a pull-out rack, a nonstandard door hinge plate – we source the OEM part directly and usually have it in hand within two to three business days. We’ll tell you which it is before you pay for anything.
