ViewLux Fence Installation: The Miami Owner’s Guide
When a ViewLux fence panel fails in Miami, it’s usually not the panel itself. It’s the post, the bracket, or the hardware holding that panel to concrete or soil that gives way first. We stock ViewLux-compatible posts, mounting brackets, and panel clips, and a full ViewLux fence installation in Miami typically runs $4,130 – $10,620 installed, depending on linear footage, post condition, and whether we’re replacing the entire run or just a section. Most owners discover the problem the same way: a gate starts dragging, a panel leans after a hard rain, or a post wobbles when you lean against it. Call (850) 988-7559 and we’ll tell you what it’ll take, in writing, before any work starts.
Which ViewLux Models This Applies To

ViewLux builds several vinyl and composite fence lines, and the hardware is not interchangeable across all of them. The most common series we work on in Miami are the ViewLux Vinyl Privacy, ViewLux Architectural Composite, and ViewLux Semi-Private picket lines. Each uses a slightly different post profile and panel channel depth, so matching the replacement part to the existing run matters more than most homeowners expect.
Here’s the detail that saves time and money: ViewLux posts are typically 5″ x 5″ for privacy runs and 4″ x 4″ for picket and semi-private lines. If you install a 4″ post in a 5″ steel insert or vice versa, the panel won’t seat, and you’ll fight the job all afternoon. We check the post stamping (usually printed on the inside of the post cap or near the bottom rail) before we order or pull anything. OEM ViewLux parts are worth it when you’re matching an existing color lot; UV exposure in Miami fades vinyl differently than it does up north, and a mismatched panel shows within a year. For structural components like steel post inserts and aluminum bottom rails, a quality aftermarket equivalent does the job without the OEM markup. We’ll walk you through which is which on the phone or at the first visit.

Signs Your ViewLux Fence Installation Is Failing
- Leaning post after heavy rain. Miami’s wet season saturates the soil and the real problem is usually a rotted or corroded steel post insert where it meets concrete. The post itself is often fine; the anchor has failed. You’ll see the lean worsen within 24 – 48 hours of a hard downpour.
- Panel pops out of the bottom rail channel. This is a thermal expansion issue. Vinyl expands and contracts more than people think, and in Miami’s heat the panel can flex enough to walk out of its channel if the original install didn’t leave proper end clearance. We see it most on west-facing runs that bake in the afternoon sun.
- Gate drags or won’t close square. The hinge post has shifted, not the gate. Miami’s limestone subsoil doesn’t hold post footings the way clay does up north, and gates are the first thing to show it. The gate itself is rarely the problem.
- Cracks at the post cap or where the top rail meets the post. UV degradation happens faster in Miami than in most markets. We see fine spider cracks in caps within five to seven years on full-sun exposures. It’s cosmetic at first but lets water in, and then it’s not cosmetic.
- Bottom rail splitting near a stiffener. When wind loads hit a run repeatedly, the internal aluminum stiffener can transfer stress to a single point on the vinyl rail. One hurricane season can do it. The repair is usually a new bottom rail section and oversized stiffener.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In Miami, a full ViewLux fence installation runs $4,130 – $10,620 for a typical residential run. The range is driven by three things: linear footage (you’ll see $35 – $55 per linear foot for a mid-grade vinyl or composite line), post condition (if the posts are sound, we reuse them and just swap panels and hardware; if they’re not, add post replacement at $90 – $180 per post), and access (a fence line against a neighbor’s mature hedges or a retaining wall takes longer than an open yard).
Every quote includes removal of the failed sections, haul-away, new panels and hardware, and cleanup. We give you a written price before we pull a single post, and that’s the number on the invoice. No change orders at the door. The work itself carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something fails in the year after we finish, we come back and fix it at no charge. That includes the parts and the labor to make it right.
DIY or Call Us?
A ViewLux fence is lower risk than a lot of home projects. Replacing a single panel you can reach is doable if you have a rubber mallet, a couple of clamps, and the patience to measure twice. Where DIY goes sideways in Miami is with posts, footings, and property lines. A post set in bad subsoil or without proper concrete collar will lean again in one season, and you’ll have paid for the work twice.
And a word on the part itself: cutting vinyl panels without a fine-tooth blade and proper support produces ragged edges and hairline cracks you won’t see until the first heat wave. We’d rather tell you honestly than clean up a botched panel. If the post is solid and you just want to swap a panel, call (850) 988-7559 and we’ll sell you the part and talk you through what’s safe. If the post is moving or the run is older than eight years, let us put a written estimate in front of you first. As Trevor Nash likes to say around here: give you a number first, then pick up the tools.
FAQs

In Miami’s sun and humidity, expect 15 to 20 years from properly installed vinyl panels, and 12 to 18 from composite depending on exposure and how well the original install handled drainage. Hardware and steel inserts fail before the panels do. Call (850) 988-7559 and we’ll tell you what year the run looks like it’s in.
Yes, if the posts are still solid. We repair more ViewLux runs in Miami than we replace outright. The call comes down to post condition and whether the panel channel dimensions still match what’s installed. If the posts are moving, a repair is just a delay. We’ll tell you straight which one you’re looking at when we see it.
Most single-run replacements are a one-day job. Full perimeter installs run two to three days depending on access and how many posts we’re setting. We give you a real arrival window in writing before we start, and a live person answers the phone 24/7 if you’ve got questions while we’re on site.
We keep common ViewLux-compatible posts, brackets, and panel clips on the truck, and we can source OEM panels for most series within a few business days here in Miami. We also stock parts for other brands we service, including KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone. If we don’t have your exact panel in stock, we’ll give you the lead time up front, in writing.
