Belgard Fence Installation: The Miami Owner’s Guide
Belgard fence installation in Miami typically runs $4,130 to $10,620 for a complete panel system, depending on linear footage, access, and whether we’re replacing failed posts or starting fresh. We stock Belgard-compatible post kits, brackets, and panel hardware on our trucks, so most repairs get diagnosed and quoted the same visit. The usual way Miami homeowners find us: a fence post leaning after a summer storm, panels shifting out of alignment, or hardware that’s rusted through from salt air and won’t hold a gate level anymore.
Here’s what surprises people. Belgard fencing isn’t just the panel you see. It’s a system of galvanized steel posts, aluminum channels, and purpose-built brackets that hold the panels in place. When one component fails, the whole section starts to move. Trevor Nash has seen this enough times in Coconut Grove, where older homes and older fence runs tend to hide their problems behind hedges, that we always check the post bases before quoting a panel swap. If the post is solid, the fix is fast. If the post has rotted or shifted, the price changes for a reason we’ll show you before anything gets pulled apart.
Give you a number first, then pick up the tools. That’s how we work, and it matters on Belgard jobs because the parts are specific. You don’t want a contractor guessing at a universal bracket and calling it done.
Which Belgard Models This Applies To

Belgard makes fence systems in a few distinct lines, and they are not interchangeable the way some homeowners assume. The main ones we work with in Miami are the Belgard Bordeaux, Belgard Matrix, and Belgard Stonegate panel lines, plus the coordinating post and gate kits. Each uses a slightly different panel thickness and channel width, usually between 1.5 and 2 inches, which means a bracket that fits Bordeaux won’t always seat properly on a Matrix panel.
The fastest way to identify what you have is to check the back face of a panel near the top edge. Belgard stamps most panels with a mold number. If the stamp is gone or painted over, measure the panel thickness and the distance between post notches. We bring a set of calipers to every fence call for exactly this reason. One checkable gotcha that trips up a lot of Miami homeowners: Belgard’s fence posts are structural steel but the proprietary post caps and base plates use specific bolt patterns. A generic fence post from a big-box store will not accept the Belgard channel bracket without modification, and modifying it voids the point of the system. We install OEM Belgard components when the run is under warranty, and quality aftermarket brackets from U.S. foundries when the original is discontinued or the homeowner prefers a lower parts price. Both work. We’ll tell you which we recommend and why before ordering anything.

Signs Your Belgard Fence Installation Is Failing
- Post lean at the base. This almost always means the post was set in concrete that’s cracked or undersized for Miami’s shifting sandy soil. The panel itself is usually fine; the footing is the problem.
- Panels rattling in stiff wind. The aluminum channels at the top and bottom have loosened or the rubber gaskets have dried out. South Florida sun is rough on rubber. Once a gasket lets go, the panel moves and wears the channel wider.
- Gate dragging or won’t latch. Hinges on Belgard gates are load-rated for the panel weight. When a hinge pin corrodes, the gate drops. Salt air within a mile of Biscayne Bay accelerates this faster than inland neighborhoods like Westchester or Kendall.
- White oxidation or rust streaks on panel faces. Galvanized hardware is rusting behind the panel and weeping onto the surface. That’s cosmetic now, structural later.
- Buckling or bowing along a fence line. This is what happens when the previous installer skipped expansion gaps. Miami heat expands the panels; without an expansion joint every 20 to 24 feet, panels bind and push posts out of plumb.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For Miami fence work, you’re looking at $4,130 to $10,620 for a full Belgard fence installation, with most mid-size residential runs landing between $5,300 and $8,000. That includes removal of the old failed section, concrete footings for new posts, the Belgard panels and mounting hardware, labor, and a written warranty on everything we touch. It does not include surprising add-ons, because we don’t do those.
What drives the number up or down:
- Linear footage: more fence, more material. Simple math, but it’s the biggest lever.
- Access: if we can’t get a mini-excavator through the side gate, we’re digging by hand. That’s slower, and honest labor costs more.
- Post condition: replacing only panels on existing posts costs less. If the posts are shot, the job gets heavier.
- Gate hardware: a single walk gate is standard. Double gates or an automatic opener changes the parts list.
- Permits: Miami-Dade requires a permit for new fence construction over a certain height. We pull it, and the fee is a line item, not a mystery.
Every quote is written before any work starts. Not a range with fine print; a number you can hold us to. And the 365-Day Done Right Promise applies to every Belgard fence installation we do. If a post shifts or a panel settles within a year, we come back and fix it at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
Most Belgard fence failure is safe to inspect from the ground, and we’ll tell you what to look for: check whether posts move when you push them, whether panels have loosened in their channels, and whether gate hinges look rusted. Those observations help us quote accurately.
Where do we draw the line on do-it-yourself? Concrete footings and post setting. A fence post in Miami needs to go below grade far enough to hold against hurricane-force wind loads, and a shallow footing fails within a season or two. Pouring a proper footing means knowing your soil, your wind zone, and your post depth. None of it is exotic, but all of it is exact. If you want to try it yourself, measure everything twice and borrow a post-hole digger. If you want it to stay straight through next August, give us a call at (850) 988-7559. Free estimates, no obligation.
FAQs

Fifteen to twenty-five years, depending on salt exposure, drainage, and whether the installer used proper footings and expansion joints. Panels within a mile of Biscayne Bay tend to wear on the shorter end of that range without more frequent hardware checks.
Most fences can be repaired. We replace what’s failed, not the whole run. If posts are solid and channels are intact, a panel replacement is an afternoon job. Call (850) 988-7559 and we’ll confirm before quoting.
A single panel repair is usually done in two to four hours. A full run with new posts takes two to four days, including concrete cure time before we set final panel alignments.
Yes. We carry OEM Belgard brackets, post caps, base plates, and channel gaskets on our trucks, plus quality aftermarket equivalents for discontinued series. For KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone parts, we can special-order as well.
