Boral Driveway & Pavers: The Miami Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Boral-compatible driveway pavers and replacement units throughout Miami, with typical installed pricing running $8,260 – $21,240 for a full driveway and $4,130 – $12,980 for a paver patio. Most owners discover they need us the same way: a paver has cracked under a car’s weight, a section has settled into a dip that pools stormwater, or the surface has faded to a chalky white from Florida sun and salt air. The good news is that Boral pavers are modular, which means you rarely need a full replacement when a section fails. We match the units, pull the damaged ones, and rebuild the substrate underneath so the repair holds.
Which Boral Models This Applies To
Boral’s paver lines common in Miami driveways include the StoneSet, EuroStone, and Pavers & Retaining Wall series, and the first compatibility gotcha is color lot. Boral runs pigments in batches, so a “Sandstone” paver installed in 2016 won’t match a “Sandstone” paver poured last month. We keep records of Miami jobs and source from local yards to find the closest lot, and when an exact match isn’t possible, we’ll tell you that before any work starts. The second gotcha is thickness. Driveway pavers are typically 60mm, while walkway and patio units run 40 – 50mm. Putting a 40mm unit under car traffic is a guaranteed crack within a season. We measure every pulled unit before ordering replacements. We are an independent service provider, not affiliated with Boral, so we match OEM units where they’re available and use equivalent-color aftermarket units from Belgard or Unilock where Boral has discontinued a line.

Signs Your Boral Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Hairline cracks spreading across multiple units. This usually means the base layer underneath has eroded or compacted unevenly. The pavers are showing you the movement, not causing it. In Miami’s wet-dry cycles, sandy subgrade washes out through edging gaps and leaves voids under the pavers.
- A low spot that holds water for more than an hour after rain. Settled areas mean the base has failed in that spot. Standing water accelerates paver degradation and breeds mosquitoes, and in Miami’s hurricane-season downpours, a small dip becomes a pond fast.
- Loose or rocking pavers along the edges. The edge restraint has broken or pulled away. Without edge restraint, the entire field of pavers starts to drift outward and the pattern opens up.
- Chalky white surface that won’t clean off. That’s efflorescence from salt and mineral exposure, common in Miami’s coastal air. It’s mostly cosmetic, but if the paver has also become brittle and sand-textured, the concrete itself is degrading from salt intrusion.
- Sand washing out of the joints onto the driveway apron after every rain. Joint sand is structural; it locks the pavers together. When it washes out, the pavers lose interlock and individual units start cracking because they’re now bearing weight alone instead of as a system.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Miami, a full paver driveway installation runs $8,260 – $21,240 depending on square footage, access, paver thickness, and whether we’re reusing the existing base or building a new one. A partial repair, which is what most Boral driveways actually need, is almost always less. We charge by the section: pulling the damaged units, compacting or rebuilding the base, replacing the geotextile fabric where it’s torn, reinstalling the pavers, and re-sanding the joints. The number you get from us is written, line-itemed, and fixed before we start, so the number on day one is the number on the invoice. Every repair carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing: if the section settles or cracks again inside a year, we come back and fix it at no charge. No service call, no re-inspection fee. That’s what Trevor Nash wants you to hold us to.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely do the diagnosis. Walk the driveway after a rain. Mark the low spots with chalk. Check whether edges have pulled away. Tighten down any areas where sand is washing out and note them. What you shouldn’t do is pull pavers yourself if you want the repair to last. The visible paver is only the top of a system: crushed limestone base, bedding sand, and joint sand all work together, and in Miami’s water table, cutting the wrong corner on drainage means the same failure comes back in six months. Lifting 60mm pavers over a broken base without recompacting it is how driveways end up with a patch that’s visibly a patch. If you’re seeing cracks or pooling, call us at (850) 988-7559 and we’ll come out, measure, and give you a written number before anything gets pulled. Give you a number first, then pick up the tools.
FAQs

In Miami’s heat, humidity, and salt air, properly installed Boral driveway pavers last 25 – 30 years before the units themselves degrade, but the base underneath typically needs attention every 10 – 15 years because of erosion and settlement. The paver usually outlives the substrate it sits on, which is why most failures show up as dips and cracks rather than crumbling units.
A hairline crack in a single unit can sometimes be stabilized with a color-matched paver sealant, but a crack that crosses the full depth of the unit means the paver has finished its structural life, and the honest fix is replacement. Replacing one paver and calling it done without checking the base underneath is how you end up back in the same spot next season. Call (850) 988-7559 and we’ll tell you which situation you have, with a written price before any work starts.
Most section repairs on a Miami residential driveway run one to two working days: day one for pulling, base work, and reinstallation of the units, day two for joint sand, compaction, and final leveling. A full driveway replacement typically takes three to five days depending on square footage and access.
We keep common dimensions and colors in stock for same-week repairs, and we source specific Boral lots from Miami-area yards when an exact color match matters. If you’re past your original paver order, we’ll find the closest matching lot or tell you honestly if we can’t. Estimates are free, and the written price is always before any work starts.
