Boxabl Driveway & Pavers: The Miami Owner’s Guide
If you have a Boxabl home and the driveway or paver approach is cracking, sinking, or heaving, we stock and install Boxabl-compatible pavers and driveway systems right here in Miami. An installed paver driveway for a Boxabl footprint typically runs $8,260 – $21,240, and we can usually have the job scoped and scheduled within a week. The part itself isn’t a single component you order from a catalog; it’s the ground system under your unit, and in Miami, that system fails in predictable ways we see on almost every older Boxabl install.
Most owners notice the failure first as a low spot near the tongue or a paver that rocks when you step on it. By the time it’s visible, water has usually been working underneath for a season or two. We’ll explain what’s actually happening below.
Which Boxabl Models This Applies To

Boxabl’s Casita models, including the original and the current production units, all sit on a compact foundation pad that connects to a driveway approach. The pavers themselves aren’t made by Boxabl; they’re a site-built system installed by the delivery contractor, which means every install in Miami is slightly different. The paver size, base depth, and drainage details are determined by whoever did the original work, not by the factory. That’s the first thing to know: there is no Boxabl part number for your pavers.
What you want to match is the existing paver profile. Most Miami Boxabl installs use a 60mm paver (about 2 3/8 inches thick) over a compacted base. Some use 80mm pavers for heavier traffic. Measure one paver’s thickness before calling anyone; it saves a trip. We carry both profiles, plus matching edge restraints and polymeric joint sand. If your pavers are a standard brand like Belgard or Unilock, we can often match the series exactly. If they’re an off-brand from the original build, we’ll recommend a close visual match and give you a written price for the full replacement before we start.
We’re an independent service provider, not affiliated with Boxabl. We just know their install footprint and how to work around it.

Signs Your Boxabl Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Low spots or birdbaths after rain. Water pools in shallow dips instead of running off. That means the base under the pavers has settled or washed out. In Miami’s wet season, a small dip becomes a sinkhole faster than you’d think.
- Rocking or clicking pavers. When a paver moves underfoot, the bedding sand layer has eroded or shifted. It feels minor, but it means water is getting under the system.
- Weeds or grass pushing through joints. Joint sand has failed or was never compacted properly. Roots from even small weeds can lift a paver a quarter inch.
- Edge pavers sliding outward or separating. The edge restraint has broken or was never installed correctly. Once the edge goes, the rest of the field starts spreading.
- Visible sand washing out after storms. If you see sand collecting at the low end of your driveway after a heavy Miami rain, the base material is migrating. That’s structural, not cosmetic.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a Boxabl driveway approach in Miami, you’re looking at $8,260 – $21,240 for a full paver removal, base rebuild, and reinstallation. The spread comes down to square footage, base condition, and whether you need new pavers or can reuse what you have. If the base is intact and only the top layer needs resetting, the job lands on the lower end. If the original install skipped geotextile fabric and the base is mud, we’re rebuilding from the soil up, and the price reflects that.
Every quote we write includes demolition of the failed area, haul-off, new or salvaged base material, paver supply or reuse, edge restraints, joint sand, and final compaction. The number you get before we start is the number on the invoice. We don’t hand you a verbal range and hope you don’t notice the change order later.
Our work on driveway and paver systems carries the same 365-Day Done Right Promise as everything else we do. If it fails inside a year, we come back and fix it at no charge. That’s in writing.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself: measure your paver thickness, note where water pools after rain, and see if the edge restraint is still tight. What you shouldn’t do is start pulling pavers. Once you lift a section, you expose the base to more water, and a partial repair without proper compaction leaves you with a patch that settles differently from the surrounding field. We’ve fixed plenty of those; they cost more than the original fix would have.
Paver work is heavy, physical, and unforgiving. Sixty-millimeter pavers run about 35 pounds each, and a proper base rebuild involves excavation, compaction, and leveling that most homeowners aren’t set up for. If you want a second set of eyes before you decide, call (850) 988-7559. We’ll give you a number first, then pick up the tools.
FAQs

A properly installed paver driveway in Miami should last 20 to 25 years with joint sand top-ups every few years. The base underneath can go longer if it was built correctly. What kills pavers early here is water. Miami’s flat terrain and heavy seasonal rain mean poor drainage undermines a paver system in five to seven years. We see it constantly on Boxabl lots where the original delivery contractor cut the base depth to save time. Call (850) 988-7559 and we’ll tell you honestly whether yours is failing early.
Yes, in most cases. If the settling is localized to one or two areas, we can lift the affected pavers, repair the base, and reset them. That job usually runs well under a full driveway replacement. If the entire field is moving or the base has turned to muck, replacement is cheaper in the long run than patching the same spot every year. We’ll show you the difference on the quote.
A full paver driveway replacement for a Boxabl footprint typically takes two to four days, depending on base condition and weather. The base rebuild is the time-consuming part; laying the pavers themselves is the fast part. Miami afternoon storms can stretch the schedule. We give you a defined arrival window in writing before we start, and we keep you posted if weather shifts anything.
We stock the two most common paver thicknesses used on Miami Boxabl installs and can order exact brand matches from Belgard or Unilock when needed. We also keep edge restraints and joint sand on the truck. If you need KraftMaid, Cambria, or Silestone parts elsewhere in your home, we stock those brands too, but for driveway pavers, the material will match your existing profile before we start.
