ECO Window Systems Bathroom Remodeling: The Miami Owner’s Guide
If you have an ECO Window Systems window in a Miami bathroom that’s failing or needs replacement as part of a remodel, we handle the full scope: window removal, proper substrate repair around the opening, waterproofing, and installation of an ECO Window Systems-compatible unit. A bathroom remodel in Miami typically runs $10,620 – $33,040, with window replacement work inside that remodel adding roughly $5,310 – $17,700 depending on size, glass package, and how much surrounding wall repair is needed. Most owners discover a problem the same way: condensation between the panes that won’t clear, a frame that’s soft to the touch near the bottom, or visible corrosion on the hardware after a few humid Miami summers.
Which ECO Window Systems Models This Applies To

ECO Window Systems builds vinyl and aluminum windows in several series, and bathroom applications almost always use either a standard single-hung, a horizontal slider, or a fixed picture unit with obscure or frosted glass. The compatibility gotcha with ECO Window Systems is frame depth. Their replacement windows are designed to fit into existing openings without tearing out the surrounding wall, but Miami homes built before 1994 often have rough openings that are 3 1/4 inches deep, while newer ECO units need closer to 3 5/8 inches. If you force a deeper frame into a shallow opening, the window sits proud of the interior wall and the trim never sits right.
When you call us about an ECO Window Systems bathroom window, we’ll ask for the label on the inside of the sash or frame. That label has the series and glass package. If the label is gone, we measure the visible glass, the frame width, and the depth of the opening. For bathroom-specific glass (obscure, rain, or tinted), OEM glass is worth the higher price because the pattern has to match if you’re only doing one window and the rest of the house was done together. If you’re replacing all the bathroom windows at once, quality aftermarket glass with the same opacity rating is usually fine and can save you 15 – 20%.

Signs Your ECO Window Systems Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing
- Permanent fog between the panes. The seal on the insulated glass unit failed, and now humid Miami air is inside the airspace. No cleaning fixes this; the glass unit itself needs replacement. In a bathroom, this happens faster because shower steam attacks the seal from the inside.
- Soft or discolored drywall around the window frame. Water has been getting past the flashing or the perimeter caulk. In bathrooms this often traces back to condensation running down the glass and sitting on the sill, especially on single-pane aluminum frames from older ECO units.
- Visible corrosion or pitting on the frame or sash hardware. Salt air near the coast accelerates aluminum corrosion, and many 15-year-old ECO aluminum windows in Coconut Grove and Coral Gables bathrooms show exactly this along the bottom track.
- The sash sticks or won’t lock cleanly. Vinyl frames expand in Miami’s heat, and once the balance system or the lock alignment is off, the window both leaks air and becomes a security problem on a ground-floor bathroom.
- You can feel air movement around the closed window. The weatherstripping has compressed or the frame has shifted out of square. In a bathroom, that draft carries moisture into the wall cavity every time someone showers.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For an ECO Window Systems bathroom window replacement inside a larger remodel, plan on $5,310 – $17,700 installed, with most single standard-sized bathroom windows falling between $5,900 and $9,400. The range depends on four things: the glass package (obscure glass runs higher than clear), the frame material (aluminum runs higher than vinyl), whether the opening needs structural repair once the old window comes out, and whether your home requires impact-rated glass for the wind zone you’re in.
Every quote from us includes the window, labor, flashing and waterproofing at the rough opening, interior trim, and haul-away of the old unit. It also includes the written price before any work starts, so the number on day one is the number on the invoice. And it includes our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the installation fails inside a year, we come back and make it right at no charge. Trevor Nash will tell you the same thing at the walkthrough: give you a number first, then pick up the tools.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself: look at the corner of the glass for a fog line, feel for drafts around the sash with a damp hand, and check whether the weep holes at the bottom of the frame are clear. That tells us a lot before we even arrive.
Replacing an ECO Window Systems bathroom window is not a weekend DIY job. The old unit has to come out without damaging the waterproofing layer behind the wall, and in a bathroom, that layer is doing more work than anywhere else in the house. If the rough opening has rot behind the old window, which we see often in Miami bathrooms built before 2000, the wall needs repair before the new unit goes in. A window that’s installed even slightly out of square will leak, fog, and bind within two seasons. Call (850) 988-7559 and we’ll take it from there.
FAQs

In Miami’s humidity and salt air, expect 12 – 18 years from a vinyl ECO unit and 15 – 20 from aluminum, with bathroom windows on the shorter end because of constant shower steam. If the window is still square and the glass seal is intact, replacing the weatherstripping and hardware can buy you another few years. Call (850) 988-7559 for an assessment.
If the glass unit is fogged, the insulated glass unit (IGU) has failed and the glass needs replacement, not the whole frame. We can order a replacement IGU sized for your ECO frame and swap it in, which costs less than a full window replacement. If the frame itself is warped, corroded, or leaking at the rough opening, a full replacement is the better call. Call (850) 988-7559 and we’ll tell you which one you need.
A single standard-sized bathroom window takes one day from removal through trim and cleanup. If the rough opening needs structural repair or the window is impact-rated and requires permitting, add a day or two for inspection. We’ll give you the timeline in writing before we start.
We keep common ECO Window Systems-compatible sizes and obscure glass units in stock for quick swaps, and we order non-standard sizes and impact-rated glass packages directly, which usually takes 5 – 10 business days in Miami. We’ll tell you which applies to your opening when we quote it.
