Moen Windows & Doors: The Miami Owner’s Guide
We stock, match, and install Moen-compatible door and window hardware throughout Miami, and a Moen door handle or window lock replacement typically runs $120 – $380 installed depending on the series and finish. Moen doesn’t manufacture full window or door units; the Moen name in doors and windows almost always refers to the hardware on them: handlesets, levers, locksets, sliding door rollers, window sash locks, and the related trim. Most Miami homeowners discover a Moen part has failed the same way: a patio slider that suddenly drags, a front door lever that goes loose, or a window lock that won’t catch after a season of humidity and salt air.
We’re an independent Miami general contractor. We are not affiliated with Moen, and we don’t pretend to be. What we do is keep the common Moen replacement parts on the truck and match the rest by series and finish, so you’re not waiting on a second trip. Trevor Nash has been matching parts like this for decades, and the rule in our shop is the same one Trevor uses on every walkthrough: give you a number first, then pick up the tools.
Which Moen Models This Applies To

Moen’s lockset and door hardware lines split into a few recognizable series, and the part you need depends on which one is on your door. The Moen Aberdeen and Camden lines are the most common we see in Miami homes built from the late 1990s through the 2010s; both use a standard 2-3/8-inch backset, which is the measurement from the door edge to the center of the lock bore. The commercial-style Moen Voss and Weymouth series run heavier and sometimes use a 2-3/4-inch backset, so measuring before you order matters.
The compatibility gotcha we see most often: Moen entry handlesets are often sold and warranted as a complete set, not as individual wear items. The interior lever and exterior handle share a single through-bolt spindle, and if the spindle wears, you usually replace the whole assembly rather than one side. That’s why we quote complete handleset replacement rather than a “lever only” fix in most Miami service calls. Aftermarket spindles and trim rings exist and cost 30 – 50% less than OEM, and for interior passage doors where no security is involved, they’re often fine. For any exterior entry door, we recommend genuine Moen hardware: the plating tolerances are tighter, and Miami’s coastal humidity separates quality stainless and brass finishes from cheaper zinc alloy within about two years.

Signs Your Moen Windows & Doors Is Failing
- Patio door drags or hops off the track. This is almost always the roller assemblies: Moen-branded slider hardware uses sealed nylon rollers that pick up sand and corrosion in Miami. Once the bearing seizes, the wheel grinds flat and the door rides low.
- Lever or knob goes loose and spins. The set screw or spindle has worn. On a Moen handleset it’s rarely a quick tighten-and-go fix; the internal threads usually strip after a year of daily use in a Miami household.
- Deadbolt turns but won’t throw. The tailpiece connecting cylinder to bolt has failed or slipped. This one is a security issue, not a nuisance. We treat it as a same-week priority.
- Window sash lock won’t engage. Miami’s wet season swells wood and fiberglass frames, and Moen’s cast zinc sash locks rarely survive years of forced alignment. The keeper plate bends, then the lock nose misses it entirely.
- Handle finish is pitting or hazing. Salt air is brutal on plated hardware. Unlike faucets, Moen door hardware carries a shorter finish warranty, and once pitting starts it won’t stop. Replacement is the honest fix.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what Moen door and window hardware replacement costs in Miami, installed:
- Interior lever or knob, single bore: $95 – $180
- Entry handleset with deadbolt, complete: $220 – $450
- Sliding patio door rollers, both panels: $170 – $320
- Window sash locks, set of four: $110 – $240
- Deadbolt only, exterior door: $120 – $260
The range comes down to three things: the Moen series, the finish, and whether the door prep needs modification. A 2-3/8-inch backset that matches the new hardware is a straight swap. A 2-3/4-inch backset on an older Miami door sometimes means re-drilling or an adapter plate, and that adds labor. Every quote we give is a written line-item price: parts listed separately, labor listed separately, and no change orders on a straight replacement. If a job turns out harder than it looked, that’s on us, not your invoice. Every repair carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing: if it fails inside a year, we return and fix it free, no revisit charge.
DIY or Call Us?
You can confirm what you need without touching a screwdriver: open the door and look at the faceplate on the latch edge for a Moen stamp, measure the backset, and take a photo of the finish. That saves a trip. Beyond that, we’d be careful. Entry door hardware sits around high-tension springs in some passage sets, and a poorly seated deadbolt tailpiece can leave a door that reads as locked but opens with a firm shove. That’s a false-security problem, and it’s the last thing you want on a Miami exterior door. If you’ve already got the part in hand, we’ll install it straight for a flat labor rate. If you don’t, we match it from the truck or order it. Call (850) 988-7559 and tell us what you’re looking at; we’ll give you a price before we schedule anything.
FAQs

An exterior Moen handleset in Miami typically lasts 8 – 12 years before finish or mechanical wear takes it out, and interior levers often go 15 or more. Coastal salt air and unshaded west-facing doors cut that down; we’ve replaced 5-year-old handlesets on Miami Beach condos that looked a decade older. Call (850) 988-7559 for an on-site assessment.
Sometimes. If the failure is a loose set screw or a misaligned strike plate, repair takes minutes and costs less than a replacement. If the spindle or internal threads are stripped, the repair won’t last, and we’ll tell you so plainly rather than sell you a short-term fix. The visit is free if your repair fits within our flat-rate troubleshooting call.
A single handleset replacement runs 45 – 90 minutes from truck to cleanup. Patio slider rollers usually take under two hours if both panels are accessible and the track isn’t too corroded. We book a defined arrival window, and a live person answers when you call (850) 988-7559 to schedule.
We keep the common Moen Aberdeen, Camden, and Voss replacement parts on the truck in brushed nickel and oil-rubbed bronze. Less common finishes and the Weymouth series usually arrive in 3 – 5 business days. We also stock compatible hardware for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone projects when a remodel touches doors, windows, and adjacent trim.
If your Moen door or window hardware is failing in Miami, call (850) 988-7559. We’ll put a written number in your hand before any work starts, show up in the window we gave you, and back the repair with our 365-Day Done Right Promise. That’s The Kingswell Way, and it’s how we’ve done it since 2004.
