Tamko Fence Installation: The Miami Owner’s Guide
Tamko fence installation in Miami typically runs $4,130 to $10,620 for a full perimeter fence, depending on linear footage, gate hardware, and whether you’re replacing an existing vinyl system or starting fresh. We stock Tamko-compatible posts, panels, rails, and gate kits on our trucks, so most replacements start the same week you call. Most Miami homeowners discover they need us when a post leans after a storm, a gate drags across pavers, or a panel cracks along the bottom rail where sprinklers have been hitting it for years.
We’re an independent contractor. We’re not affiliated with Tamko, and we don’t pretend to be. What we do is source genuine Tamko fence components and quality aftermarket equivalents that match the original profile, then install them to hold up against Miami’s particular brand of abuse: salt air, afternoon thunderstorms, and soil that shifts between wet and dry more than most homeowners realize.

Which Tamko Models This Applies To

Most Miami homes with Tamko fencing have either the Heritage or Bayshore line, though we also see the newer Envision series showing up in developments built in the last five years. The Heritage line uses a tongue-and-groove panel design with a square top rail; Bayshore panels are flatter, with a visible lock seam at each joint. Envision shifted to a thicker wall profile, which matters because a Heritage post cap will not seat correctly on an Envision post. That’s the kind of compatibility gotcha we see homeowners run into after ordering parts online.
To identify your panel, check the underside of the top rail. Tamko stamps a date code and series initial there. If the stamp has faded (common after three or four Miami summers), measure the wall thickness with calipers. Heritage runs about 0.045 inch; Envision is closer to 0.065 inch. Aftermarket panels often split that difference. They’ll fit, but the seam looks slightly deeper, and the color may not match after two years of UV exposure. We carry genuine Tamko panels for Heritage and Bayshore because the color-coded oxide in the capstock is hard to match aftermarket. For posts and rails, we use a quality aftermarket equivalent when it’s dimensionally identical, which keeps the price down without changing how the fence behaves.

Signs Your Tamko Fence Installation Is Failing
- Post lean after rain. Miami’s soil expands when saturated and shrinks when dry. A vinyl post set in a shallow concrete footing will gradually loosen. You’ll see the lean first at gate posts, where the weight is highest. The fix is a deeper footing, and if the post is cracked at the base, a new post set with gravel drainage.
- Gate dragging or swinging loose. This is the most common Tamko gate failure we repair. The top hinge bracket screws are usually the culprit: they’re stainless, but the gate’s weight eventually wallows out the post hole. If you hear a scraping sound when opening the gate, the corner of the gate panel has already started to wear against the concrete or paver. Address this before the gate falls off the hinges.
- Panel cracks at the bottom rail. Miami irrigation systems often hit the same fence line twice a day. Constant moisture at the bottom rail plus South Florida sun creates a cycle that stresses the vinyl. Cracks start as hairline marks. If ignored, the panel splits up the center within a season.
- Color fading or chalky surface. Tamko uses a capstock process that protects color longer than the cheap aftermarket stuff, but nothing lasts forever under Miami sun. If a section is noticeably duller, it means the UV inhibitors are depleted. It’s not structural yet, but it’s a warning sign. Replacing a single panel is cheaper than matching five later.
- Sagging top rail. The top rail carries very little load, so sagging usually means a post has settled. If you set a level on the rail and it drops more than an inch over eight feet, the post is moving. Even a small drop puts extra stress on panel joints and leads to popped seams.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A Tamko fence installation or major section replacement in Miami typically lands between $4,130 and $10,620. The low end covers a partial replacement, maybe 60 to 80 linear feet with one gate. The high end includes a full perimeter with two gates, removal of the old fence, and replacement of posts that have cracked below grade. The biggest cost drivers are linear footage, gate count, and whether we’re pulling old concrete footings out of the ground. That last one is the part nobody budgets for. In older Miami neighborhoods like Coconut Grove, we regularly find old metal fence posts set in concrete from three decades ago, and removing them adds real labor.
Every estimate includes parts, labor, disposal, and a written price before we start. You’ll see the line items: linear feet, post count, gate hardware, concrete, and haul-off. The number on the estimate is the number on the invoice. Every fence installation carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise, in writing. If a post shifts or a gate binds within the year, we come back and fix it at no charge, no service call, no re-inspection fee.
DIY or Call Us?
Vinyl fence panels are not dangerous the way a garage door spring or a downed power line is. You won’t get hurt setting a post or tapping a top rail into place. That said, call us. The reason is simpler than safety: a Miami fence that’s not set right fails in plain sight. If you set a post in the wrong depth or skip the gravel base, the first heavy afternoon rain shifts it, and you’ve wasted a weekend and the cost of the post. A fence line that’s even two degrees off looks wrong from the street, and correcting it means pulling everything back out and starting over.
We’re background-checked, uniformed, and we bring the right concrete mix for Miami soil. Give you a number first, then pick up the tools. Call (850) 988-7559 for a free estimate, and we’ll walk the fence line with you before anything gets torn out.
FAQs

Expect 20 to 25 years from genuine Tamko vinyl in Miami, though the gate hardware usually needs attention around year 8 to 10. Salt air near the coast speeds up hinge wear, but the panels themselves hold up well if they’re installed with proper drainage and spacing. Call (850) 988-7559 for a fence inspection if your gate has started to sag, and we’ll tell you exactly what it needs and what it’ll cost.
For small hairline cracks near the bottom rail, sometimes a vinyl adhesive plus a backing plate holds. But if the crack has crept upward more than a few inches, replacement is the honest answer. A cracked panel is a stress point, and Miami wind loads will find it eventually. Replacing one panel is cheaper than waiting for it to fail during a storm. Call (850) 988-7559 and we’ll quote you both options in writing before we start.
Most section replacements run one to two days, depending on how many posts need to be pulled. A single post and panel swap can take as little as half a day. If we’re pulling old concrete footings, expect two days and a bigger disposal pile. We’ll give you a defined arrival window before we start, and the job is clean when we leave.
Yes. We carry common Tamko Heritage and Bayshore panels, posts, rails, and gate kits on our trucks for most Miami jobs. If your Envision panel needs ordering, that adds a few days, and we’ll tell you that before you commit to anything. Call (850) 988-7559 and we can check stock while you’re on the phone.
